Zazie O. Beetz was conceived in Berlin on the 21st of November 1991. Her father is an German cabinetmaker, who came in the United States after the Fall of the Berlin Wall in 1990, is also her mother, a South African American social worker. She graduated from the same high school with Jennifer Aniston. Beetz went on to study French in Skidmore College after graduating LaGuardia. Following graduation from Skidmore College, Beetz immediately began auditioning for roles and was eventually offered in the role of Van in Atlanta. She was born in Berlin to the parents of a German father and an African-American mother Beetz was raised in New York speaking both German as well as English in the home. Zazie has performed in theaters in the community and in the stage of New York since her childhood. Zazie discovered that she liked acting when she was at the school. Zendaya was able to land her Disney Channel breakout role thanks her impressive dancing skills. The actress was eventually cast in her first role, Rocky Blue, along with co-star Bella Thorne, on the famous show Shake It Up. Zendaya's vegetarianism began at the age of eleven when she went to the local slaughterhouse while on a journey with her Dad. Zendaya tells PEOPLE, "I thought it was awful, all those animals being stuffed and waiting to be killed. The fact that this was the way I got my meat shocked me. Seit then, she has stayed with a vegetarian diet.
